About Our Advisor

 

Mrs. Veronica Cummins started her teaching career at a charter, art-focused school in Arizona in 1996. There she taught biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental sciences. She later moved her career to another Arizona school, a comprehensive high school, where she taught biology. Mrs. Cummins also became involved in sports as head coach of girls cross country and assistant coach of track and field.



Shortly after September 11, 2001, Mrs. Cummins enlisted in the United States Army for three years, where she operated as a combat medic.

After her three years in the army, Mrs. Cummins relocated to Las Vegas and began a career in the Clark County School District as a biology teacher. She eventually had come to edify students in four courses: Biology I, Biology I Honors, Advanced Placement Biology, and Criminalistics or Forensic Sciences. Throughout this career, Mrs. Cummins has been an instructor at Coronado High School, Centennial High School, and Advanced Technologies Academy.

She spent on year away from the Clark County School District and operated in a small, rural school in Mississippi. There she gained perspective of school and way of life for students without ample educational benefits.

Mrs. Veronica Cummins is licensed to teach biological sciences in the states of Nevada and Mississippi. She is a member of the National Teachers Association, the National Association of Biology Teachers, the Southern Nevada Science Teachers Association, and several other professional societies for educators.



Mrs. Veronica Cummins currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada where she is an educator at West Career and Technical Academy. She is married to her high-school sweetheart and has two young children.
